Should meat be banned from the cafeteria?

Sample Certificate of Advanced English Essay

It is typical of every person to include meat products in his or her daily meal as meat contains a lot of vital elements for the human body. However, some people choose a different way of life - they regard themselves as 'vegetarians', which means they stay away from meat and do not eat it for many reasons. But should meat be banned from the cafeteria and what would be the disadvantages of such a restriction?

First of all, almost all vegetarians believe that without meat we would live healthier. It is thought that natural products such as fruit and vegetables consist of enough important elements, so they can successfully replace meat. As a matter of fact, the number of this important ingredients in natural products cannot be compared to the one in meat. For example, scientists have written thousands of articles about the significance of meat products and that we should eat various food.

Secondly, many people think that it would be better for the environment if there is no meat consumption. They might be right to some degree but it would be against our nature as carnivores. For instance, every carnivore on the planet has to kill other animals for food and it has not affected the environment and even this is how the balance in nature is preserved.

To sum up, meat is an integral part of our daily diet. In my view, everyone is free to choose what to eat and this is why meat should not be banned from our cafeteria.
