Bar graph showing money spent on entertainment
The graph below shows how money was spent on different forms of
entertainment over a five-year period. Write a report for a university lecturer
describing the information shown below.
The graph provides an overview of the expenditure of Asia, Europe and the USA on entertainment between 1995 and 2000. It can be clearly seen that the greatest amount for the whole period was spent in the USA and the least in Asia.
Compared with the USA, Europe and Asia spent relatively small amounts of money on entertainment during the period. Their own growth increased gradually throughout the years with almost 40% for both, whereas the USA made a dramatic rise of approximately 70%. Television and Publishing were the most popular sources of entertainment on all the three continents; however, the sums spent on them in each one differed a great deal.
Conversely, the music market was not so well-liked in all the places, with least popularity in Asia at the beginning of the period. Video and Cinema were, as a whole, not in such a great demand with only a few billions spent on them, but their figures remained constant for all the five years.
Overall, the people in the USA spent the greatest sums on entertainment and a steady rise of sums could be seen during the period. Percentages in Europe and Asia also went up but much more slowly and their favourite markets were almost the same as the ones in the USA.
