Report - Suggestions for World Awareness Day
Introduction
The aim of this report is to take into consideration the suggestions made by students for the World Awareness Day in the school and make recommendations for what should be included in that day.
Survey results:
The suggestions were collected from approximately 80% of the students via a questionnaire. Some of them felt sceptical of the day, saying it was a waste of time and suggesting playing sports games instead. On the other hand, there were a lot of students who gave very useful ideas for making the day interesting and funny. Suggestions were divided into two categories – recommendation for the day and ideas for the school, which will have an effect in the long term. The former included the following ideas:
- giving lectures that will inform the students about the life of the endangered animals, some of which can be sponsored
- making a healthy lunch menu including fruit , bread and no meat
- inviting student from other schools so that the message could be spread wider
Ideas for improvement of the school in general included:
- fines for litter not thrown away in bins and using the money to renovate the school
- a clean up of the school, which will make students aware of the amount of rubbish around it
Recommendations:
The proposed timetable for the day has two slots for activities. Recommendations for using the allocated times are:
- From 9 A.m. to 10 am – lessons
- From 10 am to 12 pm – educational activities
- From 12 am to 1:00 pm – healthy lunch
- From 1pm to 4 pm – activities again
Conclusion:
In my opinion, the suggestions given for the day are very useful and will not have an effect on that particular day only, but in the long – term, too.
