Generating electricity from sea waves

Sample Answer IELTS Writing Task 1 - Process Diagram 1.

The diagrams show a structure that is used to generate electricity from wave power.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates the way of transformation of wave power into electricity. The process takes place on a cliff or a sea wall. The structure consists of three main parts. First comes the chamber through which the air is pushed in or sucked out. Above it is the column where the turbine is placed. The third one is the electricity cable, that runs from the column to the end users.

At the beginning the wave pushes the air into the column. The backward motion of the wave induces movement of the air in the opposite direction. The result produced from both actions is that the turbine revolves round its own axis. The outcome of the whole process is generated electricity. A distinctive feature of the process is that it is not static and since the turbine is propelled constantly, the effect is permanent.
